We continued our exploration of circles on Tuesday and Wednesday. Tuesday, we discovered that bubbles are "circles" while playing on the playground.
Today, we worked on a collaborative project at the art table using liquid water colors. The children were able to squirt, pour, and use brushes to paint the liquid water colors. They watched the colors mix and spread across the giant coffee filters, and then we continued the fun with some art paper. The art paper got so wet that it did not survive, but the coffee filters are beautiful works of art that we will hang up in our building.
We practiced sorting by big and little. Sorting is still new to many of our Katon students, but they did a great job of this beginning sorting. Our older children were able to model sorting for our younger children.
In the Big Muscle Room today, we made a circle walk. The children not only walked on the circles but also ran and drove the cars over the circles. Then we found a big circle on our climber!
