Circles

This week we are starting an exploration of shapes starting with circles! The Katon kids love paint, so we made circles by dipping different lids and corks into paint.

The children also spent some time stacking various circles. Some were magnetic and some were not. The towers got really tall!

The nice weather gave us the opportunity to get back out on the playground.

The sensory table is currently filled with different circles. The children had fun putting the circles into different containers that they found in the classroom.

We have dot markers at the easel. The children experimented with holding the dot markers in different ways to see how they could make circles on the easel paper.

We were even able to find some circles in the gym today. The children ran in circles on the big HHAI circle in the middle of the gym floor, practiced standing in and out of the hoops, and tried to make the hoops roll.

The best kind of circle is a hug!
