Thursday, we finished our ocean mural by adding ocean animals with various kinds of sponges and stampers!
We also answered the question "How do sharks float?". We learned that sharks have oil in their livers that helps them stay buoyant. Then we used a bottle full of water and a bottle full of oil to see what happened when we put them in water. The bottle full of oil floated while the bottle full of water sank. The children learned that it only worked if they put the bottles in gently, but we did have some fun making big splashes with the bottles.
Today we took it easy and had some fun coloring on sand paper. The children practiced their grips with the crayons. They experimented with coloring on the rough side of the paper and the smooth side of the paper. Then, they decided it was time to explore taking crayons out of the cans to see how many could fit in one can.
We hope you all have a wonderful weekend!
