The Animals and Art of Israel

Later this week, we will be celebrating Yom Haazmaut or Israel's Independence Day. In honor of that day, we are exploring animals and artists of Israel. This morning, the children literally dug right in to our sensory bin. They dug in our "sand" (ground up toasted o-shaped cereal) to find rocks, tiles, and other objects.

We looked at art from Israel, including a piece by an artist named Raffi Lavie. Raffi uses lines and colors to make pieces that are minimalist but very toddler-friendly. The children started making their Lavie-inspired art by mixing red and white paint to make pink on the brown tag board.
