We started our exploration of bugs by drawing some grass and mulch and painting "bugs" with corks!
We have also spent so much time on our playground the last two days. The children have been really excited to get the bubbles back out and we hunted for bugs in the mulch using magnifying glasses. We've also noticed that the children are becoming more capable climbers as they get closer to the end of the school year. They are all so strong!
Back inside today, we practiced counting with the bug counters. The children were all able to separate the bugs into the compartments of the muffin tins, and a few of our older friends were able to demonstrate counting with one-to-one correspondence.
We also experimented painting with magnets. The children tried various ways of making the rings move with the magnets, but found that using the magnets on top of the trays was easiest.
