The last two days have been busy with exploring and experimenting. Yesterday, at the art table we experimented with gravity and paint. We stood up and dropped various objects dunked in paint. It was fun to see how different pieces left different marks and splatters on the table.
At another table, we explored what was magnetic and what is not. We used binder clips "catch" magnets. Some of the items on the table were not magnets and we were interested in the fact that we couldn't catch them with our fishing rods. This activity turned into some great free form loose parts play.
Today we played with parachutes to see how they floated down to the ground. We enjoyed standing on the table to see how high we could make them fly.
Our science experiment today was seeing how different things swim in the water. We took paper fish to see if they would swim on their own. We then added a dab of dish soap to some of the fish. This made them twirl and swim through the water.
