For our last day of pumpkin exploration, we used the shell of the pumpkin and some golf tees to work more on fine motor skills. The children used yarn and wound it around the golf tees on the pumpkin. The children were also very interested in taking the top of the pumpkin off and trying to work out how to put it back on the pumpkin.
Putting more golf tees in the pumpkins was a fun task as well!
Between tapping to a beat, singing "Row, Row, Row Your Boat," and reading books, we got to capture some examples of child-led interaction. The children would bring the books to the teachers or ask for certain songs. As teachers, we love to see this as it allows us to really get to know what your children are learning and where their interests lie.
We were so happy to catch this picture to be able to show you our Indiana Early Learning Foundations in action! What looks like a simple interaction between these friends is not only a social skill (parallel play) but is also a math skill. This falls under MA4.1: Understanding of spatial relationships.
We hope you all have an amazing weekend!
